Since graduating from First Miami, I have worked in the manufacturing side of the finance world. It's a fun, but challenging side of business. I am currently the Plant Controller of our facility in Georgia. I worked at First Miami from 1999 to 2001. In that time I was: - Teller/Supervisory Committee Member (1999)
- Supervisory Chairman (2000)
- CEO (2001)
I took over my current post in the First Miami Board in 2002. I made a lot of great friends at the credit union, many of whom I am still friends with today. We all learned a lot while at the credit union, and pretty much everybody is doing well in their careers. There is no other organization on campus that can give you a perspective on the real world of business. Although I chose not to enter the banking/credit union world, the rules of business and how you treat your customers and employees is the same. I have been able to draw upon many learnings from challenges encountered at the credit union. |
